Unlocking. Silent Histories started in 2012 in Chirijox, Guatemala. It emerged from a combination of my desire to respond to the problem that education isn’t designed for everyone. Rather, education is often described as a tool to eradicate culture and language. With this in mind, I listened and learned from communities, hearing how learning is defined and it allows young people to celebrate their histories. We invite you to visit each location to explore the unique adoptions of USH that reveal methodologies for future work in similar communities.
